Beosystem 1200

(1971)

Description

The Beosystem 1200 was the first complete set of matching Hi-Fi components offered by anyone. For the first time, a non-technical person could buy, all in one go, a complete and capable high quality audio system and be sure that all the parts would work perfectly together and in addition match in appearance, size and style. So impressed were the New York Museum of Modern Art that they bought a complete Beosystem 1200 for their permanent collection. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.

In its complete form, Beosystem 1200 comprised the Beomaster 1200 receiver, the Beogram 1200 turntable, the Beocord 1200 tape recorder and a pair of Beovox 1200 loudspeakers, all of which could be ordered in teak, rosewood or white finishes. The record player and tape recorder were of matching sizes, so the plastic lids were interchangeable. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
