(1984-1986) 20” colour television, 1x6W, remote control, optional teletext, optional A/V interface
Type numbers: 7700, 7701, 7702, 7720, 7723
The Beovision 5102 was a 20” version of the Beovision 8102. It offered the same high quality picture performance as the Beovision 5502 but with a simpler cabinet and a simpler audio system. Automatic contrast control was also not fitted and the A/V socket became an optional extra. The special grey moulded cabinet of the Beovision 5100 was carried forward as an additional choice of finish. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
The Beovision 5102 was the best selling model of the “basic” 77XX range (which also included the Beovision 7102 and 8102). It was the cheapest Beovision model of the time, though in terms of picture quality, reliability and durability it was the equal of the top-line sets. This was not the case with its replacements, the MX 2000 and M 20, which used an inferior chassis and inferior tubes to the larger, more expensive sets and so compared unfavourably.
