Description

The Auto-Demo Unit was a product supplied to B&O dealers to facilitate the demonstration of the new ability to integrate audio and TV products. It also included the demonstration of the new LC 1 light units. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.

The unit comprised a stand of about 1 metre in height with a cut out which faced the systems to be demonstrated. In the cut out was mounted a standard MCL transceiver and a special control box above it. Included in the package to dealers were a special CD, video tape and cassette tape which were placed in the units. On pressing the start button on the top of the Auto-Demo Unit, both tapes would rewind and the system would perform a preset series of functions showing the performance of all aspects of the audio-visual package. The LC 1s were called upon to change the lighting of the surrounding area. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.

To allow upgrading, the IC in the control box was interchangeable and allowed various system set-ups to be used. A common set-up would be a Beovision LX 5500, Beocord VX 5500, motorised stand for the LX, Beocenter 9500, ST 9500, Beolab 3000 speakers and 3 LC 1s. Text copyright © Beocentral.
