BeoCenter 2
(2004-2012)

Description
A change of design style for B&O as well as a change of parts supplier, the BeoCenter 2 ushered in the new era of curves to the B&O range of audio units as had previously been seen in the loudspeaker range. The Philips DVD/CD player previously seen in the Avant and DVD 1 had been replaced by a Pioneer sourced drive and also gone was the Philips on screen menu replaced by a far more user friendly design. Soft touch plastics and touch sensitive aluminium now dominated and a perception of quality was given only slightly dented by the inevitable cheap plastic around the actual disc area. Operation was either via the keypad or the optional Beo 4 remote. All connections to the video system and speakers took place away from the master control unit by means of a separate socket unit which was surprisingly large and was designed to take a module for Digital radio which was not released at the initial launch. A welcome quality addition to the B&O range. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
