A quality music centre based on the Beomaster 2200 and the Beogram 1902. Modifications to the receiver chassis were minimal, some of the outer trim parts were removed and the chassis slotted into the Beocenter cabinet. The turntable was also pretty conventional, though the top plate was not as wide as a standard Beogram 1902 to keep the width of the whole machine down to a sensible size. Nevertheless, Beocenter 3300 is amongst the widest of all Beocenter models, though this does make it look slim and sleek. So slight were the changes that the turntable was connected to the amplifier through an exposed DIN plug fitted into the ordinary PH socket. The turntable was fitted with an MMC 4000 pickup, but when the numbering system for pickups was reorganised in 1979 it was replaced with an MMC 20 E, which was of similar performance and quality. Beocenter 3300 filled a gap in the range left by the withdrawal of the Beocenter 3500. It did not remain in production very long, but the shape is still instantly recognisable. This is because the very successful Beocenter 7000 looked very similar, but despite similar performance figures the two share almost nothing in common. Text copyright © Beocentral.
