Beogram 2200

(1979-1980) Stereo turntable, 33/45RPM, MMC 20 E pickup

Type numbers: 5721, 5723

Description

The Beogram 2200 was a new type of turntable designed for use with the Beomaster 1900. Compared to the Beogram 1902, which had previously fulfilled this role, the styling was a far better match for that of the Beomaster. In addition, electronic controls had replaced the mechanical rocker pad of the 1902, giving the Beogram 2200 a modern, hi-tech feel. The use of electronic control also cured another one of the 1902’s faults, the inability to play 12” 45 RPM singles. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.

Mechanically, the Beogram 2200 used the same basic parts as the turntable section of the Beocenter 7000, including the arm and platter, which were the same as those of the Beogram 1902. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.

The Beogram 2200 was replaced by the Beogram 2202. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
