Description

This was the Beogram designed for use with the Beolab 5000 system. The motor unit came from a little known manufacturer called Acoustical who were based in Holland and were actually the country’s importer of Bang & Olufsen. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.

The motor for the turntable was the same Pabst asynchronous motor that was used in the Thorens TD124, quite a co-incidence as this motor unit was to replace the Acoustical one within the year. The arm was a ST/L which was fitted with an SP 7 cartridge though an SP 9 could be fitted as an upgrade. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.

This turntable was used as the export model and features in the 1967 catalogue where it only gets two lines and one picture! Perhaps this diffidence in its marketing explains its immense rarity!
