Beogram 3400
(1975-1978) CD4/stereo turntable, 33/45RPM, optional CD4 decoder/line amplifier, MMC 5000 pickup
Type numbers: 5703, 5726

Description
This was a turntable to accompany the Beomaster 3400 and was based on the Beogram 1100. It was able in standard form to play both stereo and SQ matrix quadraphonic records. It was also possible to specify an optional CD4 decoder which was switched on using a small sliding switch on the right hand side of the turntable. When the CD4 tracks were detected, the decoder cut in and a red indicator light on the top panel was illuminated. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
The MMC 5000 cartridge had a Shibata profile diamond which allowed the 44KHz carrier frequency to be recovered. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
Quadraphonic reproduction did not fire the public’s imagination and quietly disappeared, as did the Beogram 3400. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
