Beovision 6000
(1974-?) 26” cabinet model television with remote control
Type numbers: 3910, 3912, 3940

Description
This large and expensive set replaced the cabinet versions of the Beovision 3400. It used the new 39XX series chassis, resulting in better reliability than the previous models could offer. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
The key feature of the Beovision 6000 was the remote control facility. This model was the first in the B&O range to include a cordless remote control, something that was becoming popular in all European sets in the luxury class at the time. The remote control used ultrasonic sound as the transmission medium, and by the use of two mixed frequencies for each function avoided the erratic operation that dogged similar setups from rival manufacturers. A very similar remote control handset and system were used for the Beomaster 6000 4 channel quadraphonic audio system, which was available at much the same time. Text copyright © Beocentral. The Beovision 6000 was replaced by the Beovision 6002, which although externally very similar used the new 35XX chassis and 20AX in-line tube. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
