Beovision MX 4500

(1988-1989) 28” colour television, A2 stereo, Teletext, optional Nicam stereo, 2X 15W

Type numbers: 3200, 3201, 3202, 3204

A larger version of the Beovision MX 3000. The styling responded well to an increase in size, though the larger screen did show up the weaknesses in certain areas of performance, and the larger tubes were no more durable then their smaller counterparts. Most also displayed poor focusing in the corners, particularly noticeable with teletext. A new stand to fit this model, Stand 5000, was offered, and this could be fitted with a special shelf for a Beocord VX 5000 video recorder. Despite the considerable size, there was still no room in the cabinet for a Beosat LM satellite receiver, so the self contained Beosat RX was used instead. Text copyright © Beocentral.
