Beovox 4000

(1970-1971) Three way loudspeaker

This large model was intended for use with the Beomaster 3000 and the Beolab 5000, though its 40W maximum rating meant that use of the full power of the latter had to be performed with care. The substantial cabinet housed one 10” woofer, one 7.2x5” elliptical midrange driver and two 1.5” cone tweeters. The latter units were mounted on a recessed angle mount facing away from each other in the vertical direction to aid the dispersion of high frequencies. Such measures would soon become unnecessary with the introduction of dome tweeters in subsequent models. Despite not having a dome tweeter, the Beovox 4000 still met all the DIN 45500 “Hi-Fi” requirements. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
