Form 1
(1985-1997) Stereo headphone

Description
The successor to the U 70, these were exactly half the weight and were considerably smaller. They were more comfortable and had much smaller drive units due to more powerful samarium cobalt magnets that were available. The leatherette was replaced by light foam blocks, though unfortunately these were not that much more durable than their predecessors and disintegrated with the same eagerness. The ear and head controls were replaced by a spring loaded head strap which was less technical and far more comfortable. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
In line with lightweight headphones from other manufacturers, the Form 1 was fitted with a 3.5mm stereo jack plug, so that it could be used easily with miniature portable equipment. A ¼" adaptor was provided too for use with B&O products. This was of a long design so that it could be easily extracted from the deeply recessed headphone sockets found in some B&O designs. The speaker units were in a swivelling mount which ensured correct placement. To date these were the best headphones produced by B&O. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
