MCL 2 B
(1986-1990)
Description
The MCL 2 B was a proto MCL 2 A/V in that it was designed to work with B&O TVs. In this case it worked with the early LX TVs via the 3 pin DIN plugs used for external speakers. The connections allowed the sound from the TV to be routed via the relay box and then routed back to the internal speakers. The control interface allowed one to listen to either the TV or the audio system attached to the MCL system. A separate transceiver allowed remote operation. Text copyright © Beocentral. There were a few flaws in this arrangement; the major one being that the volume of the TV and audio systems were independent of each other and switching between channels could result in big volume changes. If the audio was muted, the TV would then revert to TV sound at whichever level the TV was originally set to. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
It did however allow integration of the LX TV range and led to the development of the Audio Aux system. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
