Active AM Antenna 10
(1986-1993) Active AM antenna for Beomaster/Beocenter

Description
The AM 10 active antenna was designed to make quality reception of MW and LW programmes straightforward, and to avoid the need for elaborate outdoor antennas. Later Beomasters and Beocenters did not include internal ferrite bar antennas as their directional nature would mean that the freedom to position the set as the owner wanted would have been restricted. The AM 10, which contained two parallel ferrite bars and a three transistor amplifier (subject to a B&O patent), was made round, so that it could be rotated for best results without looking untidy. The unit was mains powered and connected to the Beomaster/Beocenter via a two pin plug. Typically it would have been used with models such as the Beocenter 7700 and 9000, or the Beomaster 2000, 3000, 5000 and 5500. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
