Beocenter 1600
(1976-1978) FM stereo/cassette music centre, 2x22W
Type number: 2606

Description
The Beocenter 1600 was based on the Beocenter 1500 and this time the cassette section was left unaltered while the receiver was changed. Instead of being based on the Beomaster 901, the Beocenter 1600 used the Beomaster 1100 as a basis. This FM-only model had four pre-tuned programmes and a headphone socket mounted on the front panel (the Beomaster 901 and the Beocenters based on it all had the headphone socket at the rear). The striking black finish of the Beomaster 1100 was also carried over, and included the cassette keys and lid. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
The Beocenter 1600 clearly demonstrated how advancing technology was making possible compact units that were easy to use, which would not have been practical only a few years previously. Despite its compact dimensions, the Beocenter 1600 combined most of the functions of the Beolab 1700 amplifier, Beomaster 1700 tuner and Beocord 1700 cassette deck. Text copyright © Beocentral. The Beomaster 1600 could be used as the centrepiece of a complete Hi-Fi system, with the Beogram 1100 turntable and Beovox S 22 loudspeakers both being excellent choices for the other equipment. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
