Beovox S 22
(1977) Uniphase loudspeaker, two way, 22W

Description
The smallest loudspeaker in the Uniphase range. Construction was typical of the smaller Uniphase models, with an angled resin front and back bonded to a sturdy wooden cabinet veneered in either teak or rosewood. A removable grille covered in black cloth was fitted. Drive units were a cloth dome tweeter and long throw woofer with heavily doped suspension. The drive units were sourced from Japan rather than the more usual Scandinavian sources such as Peerless and SEAS. Japanese drive units would become common in later models such as the C/CX range. The crossover network however was constructed using components from B&O’s usual suppliers. Connection was via a recessed DIN plug. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
Beovox S 22 was ideal for use with Beomaster 1100, Beocenter 1600 and Beocenter 1800, all of which produced 22W. It was replaced by Beovox S 25. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
