Beogram 1500-1
(1973-1974) Stereo record player, 2x8W, 33/45RPM, SP 14 pickup
Description
A revised version of the Beogram 1500 record player. Both the mechanical parts and the electronics were updated in line with the rest of the range. The turntable mechanism was updated to be of the type fitted to the Beogram 1001 (recognisable by the black speed selector dial), and the amplifier was similar to that fitted to the Beocord 2400, based on silicon transistors and capable of an 8W output. The original Beogram 1500 was suggested for use with the Beomaster 5000 tuner, an impractical arrangement as the tuner cost more than the record player and loudspeakers combined. The situation was better for the Beogram 1500-1, for the Beomaster 1700 tuner was available at the same time, which was a far cheaper option. Text copyright © Beocentral. The Beogram 1500-1 was the last stand-alone record player in the range and was not replaced, the Beocenter 1800 (which included a radio) was the next similar model when it appeared a few years later. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
