Beovision 3800

(1979-1980) 22” colour television

Type number: 3505

This 22” model was a larger version of the Beovision 3000. Similar in technical and styling terms, the only difference of note was the larger picture tube. Whilst the Beovision 3000 could justify its presence in the range as being a compact model, the 3800 became an alternative to the other existing 22” sets, the Beovision 3502 and 3802. The latter two sets, with their white (or aubergine) painted cabinets suited modern interiors better, whereas the quality wood inlays of the Beovision 3800 made it easier to place in a traditional setting. As with the Beovision 3000, the styling of the 3800 would endure through two more series of models, both of which were strong sellers. The direct replacement for the Beovision 3800 was the Beovision 7000. Text copyright © Beocentral. Unauthorised reproduction prohibited.
