Beovision MX 5000

(1990) 28” colour television, A2 stereo, Teletext, optional Nicam stereo, 2X 15W

Type numbers: 3206, 3211, 3212, 3213, 3214, 3216, 3217, 3218, 3250

A replacement for Beovision MX 4500, specially adapted to work with a motorised rotating base. This allowed the whole set to be turned, using the Beolink 1000 remote control. Two models were made, MB 5000, a table top base, and MS 5000, an complete floor stand, similar to Stand 5000, but with a motorised rotating platform for the television. Some MX 5000s included a Nicam decoder as standard equipment. By the time the MX 5000 was produced, the worst of the tube quality problems seem to have had been resolved, though in terms of ultimate quality, the LX 2802 always produced better results.
