Beovox 1200

The Beovox 1200 was only a little larger than the Beovox 1000, but because it was fitted with superior quality drive units, it was able to meet the DIN 45 500 Hi-Fi standard. The two drive units were a 7” woofer with a rubber roll-edge, and a 1.5” dome tweeter. This was a very modern specification for a loudspeaker in this class at this time, and the model was capable of excellent results when used with a quality Beomaster such as the 1000 or 1600. Confusingly, the name “Beovox 1200” was used again very soon afterwards to describe a small bookshelf loudspeaker designed specifically for use with the Beomaster 1200. Text copyright © Beocentral.
